Auður Ómarsdóttir is a multidisciplinary artist primarily engaged in painting, with her practice extending to drawing, photography, and sculpture. She approaches these media through the lens of painting, using intuitive exploration and techniques such as automatic writing and drawing.
Her work often reflects personal experiences and observations from her environment, which she integrates into her visual language. Auður seeks to create harmony amidst contrasting themes, navigating various styles and methods to maintain creative freedom.
She holds a BA from the Icelandic Art Academy (2013) and an MA from the Art Academy in Bergen, Norway (2021). Active in the Icelandic art scene, her work has been exhibited both locally and internationally. In 2019, she received a nomination for the Encouragement Award at the Icelandic Art Prize and has participated in a residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Canada. Auður was an active board member of the Living Art Museum in 2021-2024.
